This year so far, I have made a decision to grow my side hustles to $10k per month by December 2023.
At the moment, I only make about $1500 a month online.
I know hitting $10k per month may seem like a lofty goal but nevertheless, I’m determined to achieve this.
Al I have to do is show up daily and put in the work.
My business strategy is to use several side hustles to attain this income goal. I know I can focus on one thing and be very successful. But being a side hustler, I love juggling many balls.
Every Sunday in this Newsletter, I will document my journey, giving a recap of my previous week as well as my goals for the next week for every side hustle I have.
So below is the Recap for this Sunday.
Freelance Writing
Writing online is my main source of income as of now. I do freelance writing work for clients and also publish my content on platforms such as Medium.
So far, I earn over $1k per month from writing online but need to step it up fast. My goal is to earn at least $3k per month from writing.
All I need is to set the right systems in place and show up every day to do the work.
My plan for the coming week is to publish at least 1 article every day on Medium and on Newsbreak.
Next Sunday, I will keep you updated on my progress.
Kindle Publishing
Kindle publishing was one of my first online hustles. I made my first dollar online from Amazon Publishing in 2017.
I didn’t take it seriously until around 2019 when No Content books were hot. I quickly joined the bandwagon and made some decent money from publishing a ton of journals and planners.
However, most of the books I published were low quality and are now quite outdated.
In my Kindle account, I currently have close to 1000 journals that I published a few years ago and 99% don’t sell a copy.
My strategy now is to unpublish all of them and focus on doing a few high-quality books.
I will be publishing Low Content books such as:
Coloring books
Habit Planners
Workbooks
Children’s picture books etc
My plan for the coming week is to clean up my Kindle account, spend at least 3 hours researching what types of books do well, and spend at least 3 hours creating and publishing my first Low Content book.
I will keep you updated on my progress next Sunday.
Etsy Shop
I created my first Etsy account back in 2017.
Since then, I only used it occasionally to buy some items on the platform.
However, I’ve always wanted to sell products on Etsy especially digital products such as templates and planners. I’ve read articles from sellers earning six-figure incomes selling digital products.
So, I created a new Etsy account last week and already have my shop ready.
For next week, I plan on spending at least 2 hours researching what people are buying and what other creators are selling. I also plan to upload my first digital product on the platform.
Next Sunday, I will give you an update on my progress.
Niche Website
Last year, I spent a considerable amount of time building a niche website. I learned so much about SEO and creating content while growing my site.
However, with the frequent Google updates that happened, my site was crushed to almost nothing. The October Helpful Content update destroyed my site.
A few days ago, I logged in and analyzed my site and found so many newbie errors I made. I feel ready to start a new niche site and I hope to be successful this time around.
So, for the coming weeks, I will spend at least 3 hours researching a good niche to start my niche site. Once I find a niche, I will buy a domain, build out the website and create a content plan.
You can expect to receive an update on my progress next Sunday.
